About TC ESD 4

Being defined as a 'special purpose district', Travis County Emergency Service District 4 operates under a narrow focus: We provide Fire trucks, Firefighters, Emergency Medicine and Prevention/Preparedness.

And we have been providing these services to the residents and buisnesses within our boundaries since 1962.

Over the years, these citizens have voted three times to authorize the collection of taxes to provide such services. Once in 1985 to create the District and twice, in 2002 and again in 2013, to approve the collection of sale tax.

The District is managed by a five-person Board of Commissioners. The ESD Commissioners are appointed to two-year terms by the Travis County Court of Commissioners.

As a subdivision of the State of Texas, our meetings are Open, public comment and input is Welcomed, and our actions are Transparent.
